Dear Members,

The start of the 2021 Fall season is just one week away with the start of Football pre-season on August 20^th followed quickly by the start of all other Fall sports on August 23^rd. This is so exciting! The MIAA staff in Franklin wishes all schools a great and memorable fall season. 

Respecting the concern surrounding the increase in COVID cases due to the Delta variant, we share that at this time there has been no indication from MA State Government with regard to a mask mandate for sports. The MIAA Sports Medicine Committee (SMC) and the Board of Directors (BOD) have scheduled meetings next week.  Any communication coming from the state or MIAA committees that alter this message will be provided to member schools as soon as possible. Until additional guidance from the state is provided, a decision on mask wearing is at the local level.
